Individual Technology Assessment

As an educator, I have numerous strengths and weaknesses relating to the use of technology.  My strengths, in the use of technology, include the knowledge of basic programs such as Word, Excel, Photo Shop etc.  My skills are strong in using and navigating search engines and locating websites.  Another strength is the immediate access that I have to my mentor.  She works at my daughter's school and is willing and eager to answer all of my questions.  My most valuable strength, is the fact that I am a quick learner.  I plan to use my learning capabilities to keep up with the every-changing technologies that become available.

I have been a "stay at home" mom for more years than I can count, so that has put me at an extreme disadvantage in keeping up-to-date with technology.  I thought I was "keeping up" until I began classes last semester.  It was then,  I realized that possessing basic computer and navigating skills, is a far cry from the amazing array of technology that is available.  This lack of knowledge presents my biggest weakness.  I plan on addressing this weakness by gaining as much knowledge as possible through my coursework and by being open to new ideas and ways of doing things.
